Potential songs

1)
The first song I chose was "Second Time Around" by Lady GaGa. This song wasn't originally released in any of her albums but she personally wrote this song before she became a popstar. I chose this song mainly because of the lyrics and the catchy beat, which has a slight imprint of ballad music. But other than that, it became a starting point for me as it gave me ideas of I can guide people to play a certain role, the acting as well as shots that I can apply into the music video. Although, it is a pop/r&B meaning it would greatly compliment the video if it had coreography (again, because it is slightly upbeat) and props such as cars for example, but also good mise-en-scenes such as lightling etc. You would usually see this in R&B music videos. I am then slightly skeptical of using this as I believe it would take effort.

My second song I chose was by Rihanna called "Cry" another pop and r&b song. This was more of the path I wanted to go to, as it had a linear narrative and I was able to visualise the lyrics into an actual storyline. For this idea I wanted to apply flashbacks of the leading role of the main character from when she was in a relationship. I considered a black and white filter into the music video to give it that sense of drama and conjure other emotions. The main idea for this song was to have an opening of a female character walking into a bathroom and drowning herself, although she stops, and this is when she has flashbacks and other suicidal thoughts. Although one problem was, is that the singer herself is incredibly popular and mainstream, and the storyline that I had seemed a bit to depressing. I wanted to go for a direction of a niche artist, someone not well known but create good songs as well as having decent lyrics.

3)
For the third song, I looked up on google and searched for very niche artists. I stumbled upon quiet a few and my personal favourite was "Sunshine" by Cosmo Jarvin which comes under the category of country, rock. The song was recent which came out 2012 of his album 'Think Bigger'. Although I love the song, I was rather skeptical of it at the same time. I was worried of how I can set up the visuals such as acting and performance, the song was above four minutes which can be troublesome just in case we run out of ideas. The main problem was that my partner did not agree with the song, and as a team we wanted to go for something that we both agree on and create ideas on.
